It's a CF-105, aka Avro Arrow. It's fairly well-known in Canada due to it's history, not sure how well-known it is outside. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Arrow for a quick overview...

Yep, it's even famous here in Europe.

If I could find a decent photo I'd post it but I guess this one from 8 years ago kind of gives an idea (I'm the one on the left but with a bit less hair now!)

@microcarl I love the antenna you have on top of you head and see that it is detachable were you born with an antenna socket or did you have surgery to have it installed? |

I confess. It's just nice to have a face associated with the name, and it was a pain looking back and forth through this thread. I was just going to print this gallery for myself, then the devil made me do it.
I think it is very interesting that it's almost exclusively the old coots who use pictures for avatars. Daqq's the obvious notable exception, but even his avatar won't look you in the eye.

I'll see if I can find some to post.

I don't know... I only just moved the mills there this past week. If the light is a problem, I'll just put something over the window.

Yes! I really don't know what the Chicken is all about. I got it from my sister-in-law for Christmas about two or three years ago. I thought it was quite strange too. But then again, she is quite strange!
And yes, that is a Lynx-Motion "Pick & Place" robot with six degrees of freedom. I got it last year to run some experiments for an idea for work. It is constructed out of Lexan. I am thinking about making one out of Aluminum with a closed-loop servo system that used high quality DC motors and encoders attached to their back end.
I guess only you Gwen, would notice the really strange items in the picture. |

Gee JS, I didn't even catch that! It is a two-meter (144.000 MHz to 148.000 MHz) Mag-mount antenna. I guess it does look like I was born with it, it's such a perfect allignment.
I'm really supprised Gwen didn't catch that. What does she catch - the stuffed chicken!!! |

| Carl, you know you could implant that robotic arm into that chicken, put it in front of a xylophone, and have it play Christmas carols -- XyloChicken. In your spare time. |
