Teensy is a low cost ($19) USB-based development board with 21 I/O pins. A Teensy can be easily embedded inside most projects, mounted on a solderless breadboard, or fit in a standard 24 pin DIP.

The USB AVR, running at full 12 Mbit/sec USB speed, can be programmed as nearly any type of USB device, including HID, Serial, Mass Storage, etc.

Free software tools are available for Windows, Macintosh OS X 10.5, and Linux.
