Updated: May 22, 2006
Description
The Atmel AVR ® STK1000 is a starter kit and development system for Atmel’s AVR32 Application Processors. The STK1000 gives designers a complete environment for evaluating and developing with the AP7000 products, and ships with Linux.
The board has a wide selection of hardware for testing most of the embedded peripherals, including 8 MB of flash, SDRAM, QVGA (320x240) LCD display, VGA output, 2x RJ45 (10/100Mbit Ethernet), USB v2.0 High Speed port, SD/MMC and CF memory card expansion ports, I2S Audio codec, PS/2 connectors and a number of serial communication interfaces. All the I/O signals of the AP chip is available through a convenient PCI style connector (not PCI wiring!) for which you can design your own plug-in boards for adding extra HW like AC97 Audio codec and/or IDE ATA HD socket.
Included in the Board Support Package is the Linux operating system and GCC compiler plus a selection of ported applications. A complete list of what the Board Support Package includes can be found under the BSP header here on AVRfreaks.net (coming soon).
