WhatOS
Updated: Jan 20, 2005
Description
WhatOS is an open-source embedded system development solution based on Python. It provides a set of tools for creating high-quality, reliable embedded systems. These include: a real-time operating system (RTOS) generator, a simulator for testing and debugging generated systems, and tools for interacting with systems remotely after they have been embedded.
AutoState is a general-purpose state machine source-code generator based on binary decision diagrams. It is a module included in WhatOS but doesn't require that one uses WhatOS.
Although designed to be target independent, the tools have been tested most extensively with Atmel AVR and avr-gcc.
