Hi,

we are using the XMega128A1 for a larger project. Everything we need is (despite the long errata list) running fine, yet there is a problem: we are running out of flash space. At some time we will have to switch to a type with bigger flash space. We cannot just use one of the other XMega series, we need to use the A1 version because we also need the external bus interface.
At the beginning of a year, we already asked some of our distributors for the availability of i.e. the 192A1. At that time it was scheduled to be available in Q4/2011.
Two days ago I was at the "Embedded World"-fair in Germany and asked the same question to one of the Atmel guys (IIRC it was somebody from Atmel Norway). He said there would be no plans on having any xmega µC with bigger flash available this year. He also was unable to give me any further information about their roadmap.

Does one of you have any further information on this? Its crucial for us to find out about this because if the process really is delayed that much we have to switch to another brand of µC to be able to continue development..

Thanks for your kind help,

Tobias Hagemeier

Sounds like if the Atmel guy says no then it's probably a no.

Seems like that atxmega256a1 and atxmega384a1 will never arrive.. so we will need to look for another microcontroller. It was promished for more than 2 years ago by atmel.
