I am trying to install Atmel Studio 7 and I am running into several errors during the install and then again when I start the program. I can't find a whole lot of information on this. Can anyone help? I've attached the errors the installation suggestions I look at. If there is a better sorceress, please let me know.

It appears that Visual Studio is not happy.  CAn you uninstall Studio, and make sure that Visual Studio 2015 is also uninstalled, restart your PC.  Then relaunch the web installer and see what happens.  There is also a sticky at the top of this forum that you can get the installer from is using the web interface fails

I never got an email for the replies so I'm just now seeing this. I figured this was the problem and uninstalled visual studio. After which I was able to successfully install Atmel Studio. However I was unable to figure out how to get CodevisionAVR to work with studio 7. The only tutorial I could find was for Studio 6.1 and thats not working either. Right now I'm stuck with AVR Studio 4.0 :(

The Codevision extension works just fine with Studio^.2.  As far as I know it has not been created for Studio 7.

The latest CV version will work with AS7 AFAIK, I can't try it here because I have a full (older) version on this computer and don't want to mess things up.

My laptop is being used as a "smart TV" interface at the moment. Can't remember if I have a demo, newer version there.

It would seem you can't have both Studio and Visual Studio. I uninstalled Visual Studio to get Studio installed but now I need Visual Studio again. I tried installing it just to see what happens. It failed with messages similar to what Studio gave me. I really need both. It seems like they could have made them play nice with each other.

Studio is built on Visual studio so you MUST have Visual studio installed.  The Studio installer will put the correct one on your machine at time of install

Define "correct" one. I already had the correct one from my point of view installed. But Studio doesn't agree that 2015 is the correct version, it fails to install. If I uninstall 2015 I am able to install Studio but I am unable to install VS2015. I understand Studio is build on Visual Studio.

If studio fails to install then you have to show the install logs (or at least an error message).

I'm not really sure what you're getting at here. My most recent posts were simply complaints about the "fix"

The fix was "uninstall Visual Studio" and my recent post said "It would seem you can't have both Studio and [A full installation of] Visual Studio."

I need both a full blown installation of Visual Studio 2015 AND Studio on one computer. That's the ultimate fix I would like but I guess I can do with using 2 computers for now.

I've been up and running with Studio since last week after uninstalling Visual Studio.
