At one time i worked for Jabil Circuit in Auburn Hills MI. The companies they built boards for were multi-million/billion dollar companies and they had overstock parts from production runs they were scrapping all the time.
I discovered this and got to be a kid in a candy store diving through there dumpster scrap box getting brand new parts on the reel or in chip tubes for a few weeks, with the shipping/dock managers approval. This sadly ended when
an employee mentioned to a boss of seeing me with a tube of chips in the locker room thinking i stole them ( I usually always drove around to the shipping entrance after work to load transformers they were throwing out, *then i also got the other parts). The dock manager's superior just didn't like that i was collecting there scrap, i don't think they ever dealt with it before. I wasn't disciplined in any way, it was just; oh lets not do that.
Well, iv got alot. I will document the bulk and see if anyone is interested.
