Hi everyone,

I have a couple of different large projects, roughly 60 source files, and then the ASF added to that.

What seems to happen is after I have been working for about 3 to 4 hours, VAssistX silently fails.   The keyboard shortcuts stop working.  Sometimes I am unable to type things like brakets () or numbers, and so on.

The drop down to find functions disappear.   The only solution seems to be to close down Atmel studio and reopen it.

The shortcuts that fail are things like Alt+G for Goto Implementation and Alt+Shift+F for Find References.

This problem has been driving me mad for the last year already, and I am getting serverely frustrated by it.  It not all the same project either, but it seems to occur more frequently on larger projects with more files.

Does anybody have any idea how I may be able to fix this ?

I am running Atmel studio version 7.0.1417 as downloaded from the Microchip website.

Thanks,

Steed.

Hi

You can try the following,

* "Clear" History/Cache from VAssistX → Visual Assist X Options → Performance

* Try "Rebuild"  from VAssistX → Visual Assist X Options → Performance

* Visual Assist X parses all the files when we opening the existing project.

You could disable this option: 1. Go to VAssistX → Visual Assist X Options → Performance.

                                           2. Then uncheck the Parse all files when opening the project
