Problem with reset or something....

I have made my own protoboard with at90s8515. And when I program this device everything goes great. Device run program and everything is OK... but when I take the programcable off then this devive stops and nothing happens.... where's the problem???

Hi Tapio,

Check that:

- You have Vcc and GND on you board without the cable.
- That RESET doesn't float. It should be connected to Vcc through a pull-up resistor. Recommended value is 5kOhm.

I had a problem with floating reset on at90s1200 in SSOP
package.. when the I/O pin right next to reset
was raised to logic high and then lowered to logic
zero, it would reset the chip!

There was enough leakage between that I/O pin and
reset to be causing reset to pull low.
It was a devil to figure out what was causing the
reset - I was raking through code for hours until
it dawned on me.. a pull up of 10K on reset solved it.
