Most Application Notes refer to the files of the driver implementation and even provide the name of each file.

Example: AVR1316: XMEGA Self-programming

  • sp_driver.s/sp_driver.s90 – Self-programming driver source file
  • sp_driver.h – Self-programming driver header file
  • sp_example.c – Example code using the driver

My simple question is: where are those files?

I have looked on the ASF examples and I cannot find the exact driver implementation provided. Of course I can look for the device family and a similar topic and get an example (which I usually do) or just follow the well explained example code provided on the application note itself, but I just wonder where these files are?

For the application note "Atmel AVR1617: Frequency Measurement with Atmel AVR XMEGA Family Devices" they do say:

"From www.atmel.com, download the AVR1617.zip file. Unpack it into a working directory. The following files are included in the zip file"

but I do not find the files!

Now, if I just google the name of the files, like:

- xmega_freq_cntr-drvr.c

I get the file for example here in avrfreaks:

http://www.avrfreaks.net/sites/d...

But I don't find all files and I don't find the refered AVR1617.zip file.

Usually it does not matter, like I say, with other examples or the explanations of the application note I usually figure out what I need, but I really would like to know...

Any help, please? :)

Go to the atmel web site you linked above....

Under products select micros 8 bit...

   Choose the Documents tab....

Under document type, choose app notes!!!

Have fun downloading!

It is important that you go to the Atmel site - there was a thread here only the other day noting that (some/most of) the zip files have not made it in the migration to the Microchip site ...

Ah, thanks Jim!

uff...I knew it was going to be a super simple answer but for whatever reason I did not know... I am super spoiled by always googling the application notes directly and never looking on the website itself...

But googling the App Notes should not only give you the document itself  but also the page on the website where it is mentioned - which is where you would also find the ZIP file
