Hello, everyone!
I am trying to start the ATULPC-DEMO from the link below.
http://www.atmel.com/tools/atulp...
I have the board as under the link and downloaded firmware example from this page. The building of the project is successful, but BLE initialization fails.
The program fails in function at_ble_init() from file ble_manager.c with return code AT_BLE_BUS_TIMEOUT = 0xD1. No data appears on USART bus.
This demo should work because there are reports that it works, but it does not work on two my boards.
I use Atmel Studio 7, J-link v8, the power supply is 3V from USB via LDO.

Could somebody help with any advice? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

we recently bought 4 ATULPC-DEMO and there is no way to enable BLE on it either. We try without debugging and with an Atmel ICE debugger and the ble_init() fails everytime.

I also use Atmel Studio 7 and the board is powered by the coin cell holder via a DC power supply set on 3V.

Thanks a lot

I am also seeing the same problem. The at_ble_init() function call always fails with or without the debugger.

Is there a version of code available to fix this?

I bought boards from two different vendors (digikey and future), and they all exhibit the same problem.

Has anyone been able to make this board work?

Thanks

Got this from my distributor:

It seems the root cause has something to do with the eFuse programming bits in the BTLC1000 BLE device.  Correction requires more than flash re-programming and needs a Segger J-Link or Atmel SAM-ICE to accomplish.  And it doesn’t fix all units because eFuse is OTP technology.  The unit can be bricked.

There is a good chance based on what I am reading that the unit could be permanently bricked.  Best solution I see is to wait on the units that I have coming.  The issue occurred in December 2016 production and was discovered and has been fixed now.

My distributor shipped a newer unit to me and it works.
