Does any body have the specifications of the AT90S1200A part?, in fact, I want to know how to disable the internal RC oscilator.

Thanks

Hi,
I noticed that Larry Barello was stuck with a bunch of 1200a's and came up with a fuse programmer. (http://www.barello.net/AvrProjec...) Might be of use to you if you have more than one 1200a. hope this helps.

Hi,

The STK500 can high-voltage program all AVRs, and can therefore disable this fuse bit. Please note that the AT90S1200 (without the -A) is shipped with this fuse unprogrammed.

Arturo,
Amazon Electronics sells a pretty spiffy programmer that will do the trick. I have used it to change 1200A's to 1200's and vice versa. Only downside is that no ZIF sockets in the kit

Amazon's Part number is CPS122

Real nice fellow to deal with too........

Hope this helps you out.

Hi,
The fuse bit can only be changed in the parallel programming mode. I have checked & the SK500
(no ziff socket) will do this but the SK200 will not. Our Labtool48(Advantech) will do this & I downloaded a file a couple of years ago for our old ALL03(HiLo) with which I can reconfigure the oscillator fuse bit. Although it is a good tool, I am not necesarily recommending Labtool48 as they have some SW bugs pertaining to the fuse bits for the Tiny12s & 15s that require resolving.
