Hi

as the documentation is very sparse on this I'm wondering if someone can help me out on this topic.

We bought a AT32UC3A3-XPLD to evaluate the communication between the AT32UC3A3256 and a LIN-BUS device.

The microcontroller will most likely be the base of a custom board if everything works as expected.

Do I need something more - e.g. a level shifter or a MCP2004 IC - to connect the Dev-Kit to the LIN-Bus or will it work out of the box?

The getting started guide gives examples for LIN-BUS slave and master, but gives no more information whether the DEV-Kit or the microcontroller can be connected directly to the LIN-Bus...

This is really puzzling me at this point.

Thanks

Martin

Given your assessment of the documentation, and the fact that the future of AVR32 looks doubtful, is this worth pursuing ... ?

Hi

is there any official blog post or something, so I can present this to my project manager?

Not sure, but Cliff has just restated it here: http://www.avrfreaks.net/comment...

You should probably contact your FAE / Sales Rep / Distributor.

But, "legacy" status aside, why would you pick a proprietary, single-source, niche architecture these days ... ?
