I see that some distributors show that they have a 12 Mhz model of ATMELS AT90S2313 Microcontroller... But I can't find it on the ATMEL site.. Anyone know of these????

Hi Han,

Atmel is not aware of such a special lot. The AT90S2313 is supplied in a 4MHz and a 10MHz version.

Best regards,

Hello,

When AVR's were released, maximum clock frequency was 20MHz, according to databook (1997). When I ordered my MCU00100 board, I got AT90S1200-16PC with it. Nowadays maximum freq. for 1200 is 12 MHz and 10MHz for 2313. Maybe someone know the reason why the maximum frequency is dropped?

Also my old devices marked as AT90S1200-16PC and AT90S2313-12PC.
But now only AT90S1200-12PC and AT90S2313-10PC available.
And my old Atmel data book tells about the AT90S8515-20PC with 50ns instruction time.

All other manufacturers goes to be faster, but Atmel goes slower.
Why ?
