series or parallel cut crystals

In regards to the crystal oscillator circuitry, can the AVR devices use a series cut crystal,
or parallel cut only? If series cut can be used, are there any application notes or other data sheets showing frequency accuracy?

Hi all,

Normally, the crystal vendor knows very well what to supply to MCUs, and he definitely knows the most about crystal accuracy.

Generally, it can be said that the AVR needs Parallel resonance, AT cut crystals decoupled with caps typically in the range of 22-27pF.

For ceramic resonators, i think this page is of great help.
