I have following problem with AVR ISP software : when I want to program the device (AT90S4434), I need to disable signature check. If not, it does not work.

As a consequence (I presume), I am not able to program the lock bits and the program can be read from the device.

Does anybody know this problem ?

My configuration : Processor Intel Pentium II 233 MHz, Win95, AVR ISP version 2.65

Thanks in advance,

Christophe Schoenenburg

Hi!

The disabling of the signature check does NOT disable the lock bit programming! It's simply a safety feature which asks the device if it's the intended device. As long as you've selected the appropriate device and it's verifying, no harm is done :)

Hi,
Check out the AVR ISP page. There we have posted a patch file that corrects this and other bugs in the original .ini file provided with the AVR ISP 2.65
