Hi guys!

On the atmel homepage I found IAR Systems as the only one supplying C++ Compilers.

Has any one of you got informations, whether there are other C++ Compilers on the market, which are so new or rare, that it cannot be found on the standard atmel ressources?

I am very thankful for any informations!

with best regards,

IAR is expensive and has some annoying problems, especially in the way they implemented constant strings in flash memory.
Imagecraft sells a compiler for about $250, but I don't know anyone who has tried it.

re: ImageCraft compilers
First of all, we don't do C++ compilers --- yet. If the demand warrants, we have some tricks up our sleeves.

Second, there are many many many :-) copies of ICCAVR used in the field by professional engineers. Just do a deja/google search on comp.arhc.embedded, for example, on ImageCraft and you should get a flavor of the messages that have been posted about our products.

Besides, you can download our fully functional 30 day demo to try it out yourself.

I have used the Imagecraft C compiler for about a year now, and have been very pleased with it. I have used IAR and Hi-Tech C compilers before also. I think one of the best things I can say about imagecraft is the fact that Richards 1st class support and quality of product has kept me with Atmel. Otherwise I would have moved on after the doubling in price of the Mega103 and the long lead times.

I also have had a look at the codevision c compiler, but have not got into it enough to make any informed comments yet. Although the IDE has some nice features.
