Hi there,

I am using the ISP circuit that was in the PDF for ISP.
What program can I use to control the programming?
I have build the circuit and I have placed the firmware avr910.asm in the device.

I thought that I could do it with Hyperterminal but it's not working.

Please help.
Thanks,

Hello.
You should use the AVRprog software.
Info and download link found at http://www.avrfreaks.com/Tools/s....

If you already have AVRstudio you also have AVRprog. AVR prog may be launched from within AVRstudio by selecting Tools-> AVRprog

hi,

That's not what I mean.
In our company we are making production testers. The test software is Visual Basic 6.0.
I would like to intergrate the programming function in VB. (for speed and stability)

Is it possible to control this circuit with VB?
I thought it would be possible to control it with hyperterminal because it uses the Com port.
If I send a command to the programming unit it will send a signal back, so there is communication.
But as I looked in the assambler file 'avr910.asm' for the correct send-codes and receive-codes I
noticed that they were wrong.
Is it a setting error in hyperterminal?

this is the link I found where the circuit is listed:

Thanks again,

Hi,

You should be able to communicate with the ISP from AVR910 using hyper terminal.
What version of the avr910.asm are you using?
Check your baud rate, and remember that you need to power the ISP from target to get any communocation with the device.
(it takes power from the target, so no target power => no communication)
