I have recently installed Atmel Studio 7 (7.0.1645) for one of my assembly language project. I have the following problem with Simulator (debugger).

I define variables using '.db' directive in the .asm file and build them. When I try to 'watch' (using add to watch window) these variables in the debugger, I am able to see only the address of these variables (and not value). It is a struggle for me to open the 'SRAM view' and locate where the variable is, as I want to see the 'value' of the variable.

However, my program works as expected so, I am sure that program is correct

Anybody have faced this issue? Is there any solution? ( or mistake that I do?)

( I am a newbie with ATmega so not sure if this is a bug with the new version of the studio or if I am doing some mistake.)

I have split the post into a new thread.

It's a known bug that has a workaround but no fix as far as I know.
