Jim,

 

I looked for the YouTube video of the proofessor who in front of his class put golf balls in a glass jar and asked if it was now full. Then he added marbles, then M&Ms and then sand and finally water to demonstrate that there is always room for more in life. The same principle applies to the larger surface area.

 

If you wish to increase your charging current couldn't you simply add another smt resistor on top of the body of youur existing one?

Presumably you have a charge setting one somewhere...

That's not the problem. The SEL line is strapped to ground indicating USB power...long story. The connection is UNDER the ic and there's no way to get to it without removing the part. I tried and I cannot resolver it on...tried that too. Hence why I asked about charging at 500ma....I am stuck with it
