Yet another adventure in Atmel ICE recognition.

A colleague did some stuff with Zadig to make the Atmel ICE useable by CLion.

Naturally it was no longer useable by AS7.

My subsequent attempts to have it both ways resulted in neither being able to use the Atmel ICE.

I do have a HIDBLDR under Universal Serial Bus devices

apparently with VID/PID 03eb/2142, which I'm pretty sure is wrong.

At one time there was Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Bluetooth 4.1  under bluetooth
and USB Input Device under under Human Interface Devices.

Currently, Bluetooth is gone.

The Zadig executable is zadig-2.3.exe  .

When I power cycle the target,

I get an offer to update Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Net...

even though Bluetooth seems gone.

How do I make atmel ice usable again?

I'll come back to this tomorrow.

For now, I need to kill something.

After considerable struggle, I've somewhat restored usability by CLion and avrdude.

AS7 seems to like none of the options available through zadig.

It always shows the ICE as disconnected.

My attempt to use atfw failed:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Studio\7.0\atbackend>atfw -l
Connected tools:
atmelice J41800083382

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Studio\7.0\atbackend>atfw -t atmelice -a "..\tools\Atmel-ICE\atmelice_fw.zip"
No Tool is found

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Studio\7.0\atbackend>

Additionally, I have another Atmel Ice liked by neither CLion nor AS7.

It shows up under Universal Serial Bus devices as HIDBLDR and

enumerates as VIS/PID = 03EB/2142 instead of 03EB/2141 .

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Studio\7.0\atbackend>.\atfw.exe -l
Connected tools:
atmelicebootmode J41800084875

C:\Program Files (x86)\Atmel\Studio\7.0\atbackend>

Hadn't known it had a boot mode.

Still don't know what to do about it.

Solved.

After disconnecting, I told the device manager to uninstall both interfaces.

They reappeared after plugging the device in again.

I told the device manager to update their drivers and let me select from a local list.

In each case, I used the shortest name, e.g. USB Input device.

I needed to do it again after plugging in another Atmel ICE.

I still have an ICE that enumerates to VID/PID 03EB/2142.

The device manager labels it HIDBLDR.

I suspect that that is a separate problem.
