I am trying Atmel Studio 7 for development of a SAME70 project, with the SAME70 Xplained demo board. There have been many startup issues. First thing, I'd like to use a J-Link for development as that will match my embedded system. On first attempt, I could not get the tools to recognize the J-Link as an option, even though other apps on the same computer do. Eventually I did get the J-Link recognized, but it is interesting that there is no longer an option to use the EDBG. Only J-Link and "custom". Oh well, at least I can load the code and step through it. First question - does the Studio 7 with J-Link support trace via the ETM and ETB ? I can open the trace window but not "start" it or get any content in the window.

Studio supports MTB, not ETB nor ETM...

That is unfortunate, but good to know up front. Thank you Morten.

FYI, Studio 7.0.1417 is broken with SAME70s because it overwrites the TCM setting in the fuse bits every time you debug to a smaller SRAM config everytime even if you change it back

So not "AVR-Related", then.
