Hi,

I am currently working on a design where we used a fujitsu MB90340 series microcrntlr which has become obsolete now, I wanted to know if we can replace the same with Atmel SAM 4E16E, I also wanted to know how do we compare two controllers and on what basis we decide that 1 microcontroller can replace the other, based on features. I am still in learning mode on how to analyse the datasheets. Your knowledge sharing wud be of utmost important to me......

Do you mean this: http://www.cypress.com/products/mb90340 ?

So do you not have a teacher or manager/mentor to guide you?

Rather than compare microcontrollers, I think it would be better to go back to the project Requirements, and make your new chip choice directly from them.

You need to find out exactly what the MCU is required to do. Does it need lots of I/O pins? What communication protocols are used? Peripherals like ADCs and timers are necessary? How many? Etc...

Exactly - you need to look at the project Requirements.
