Seems like another round of missing/no stock ATMEGA328PB TQFP devices (which are NOT the same feature-wise as ATMEGA328P)

I saw something about these coming in from Thailand.

Why doesn't the 48PB/88PB/168PB have the same feature set as the 328PB (like 5 timers, 10PWMs,  2 uarts, etc)

The regular 48/88/168/328 series are all duplicates, except for their memory sizes.

Thanks--I should have mentioned TQFP parts...perhaps a QFN to TQFP adapter would work (or solder little wires to extend the pins....arrrrg)!

Interesting...on Thurs nobody (including Mouser) had any TQFP...mouser was saying they'd have some no time soon, with a 20-26 week leadtime

On Friday Mouser has 1500 in stock, with more coming (supposedly) at the end of the month!!

Returned goods, from a big order?  Watch out for the coffee stains.

I've never met a pig I didn't like, as long as you have some salt and pepper.

Wonder why doesn't the ATMEGA168PB have 5 timers?...would be nice if the 44/88/168/328PB family all had the same features....That has probably been a "surprise" for many when their apps quit working in the smaller chips.

It is a surprise to many I'm sure.

It seems like a mistake to just add a 'B' suffix to those popular devices and give them new features and remove the full swing xtal osc. (to save money), you really don't have self contained 20MHz operation anymore.

They should have been given a new part number to avoid confusion.

Could consider a secondary distributor (EOL, NRND) in-lieu of the manufacturer or a primary distributor :

Ewing Components

Wonder if they actually have any, or maybe they are just a "front" to say they might be able to get them ...The chip supply world is murky.

Now THAT is a healthy lead time, eh?

You just need to base your app on the -XMINI -- a few hundred of those floating about.

I complained to Atmel/Microchip that no distributor has any...they replied that the reason is, there is no stock!!!

I'm not sure if that is their way of promoting a feeling of quick customer responsiveness.
