Hello all,

I would like to ask for confirmation because I find datasheet a bit misleading on the topic. My MCU is AT32UC3A0512. I have an external ADC connected through SPI to my MCU. I do have an external SRAM connected through EBI/SMC to my MCU. I am reading datasheet and I can not find EBI specific PID number to configure PDCA channels. The same is with the PIDs specified in the uc3a0512.h. It just does not exist. On the other hand in the datasheet on the page 35, Figure 10-1. HMatrix Master/Slave Connections there is possibility of connecting PDCA to the EBI.

Referred datasheet:

Is it possible to transfer ADC samples to the external RAM using PDCA only? If so then how to do it?

Kind regards

You can do what you want but not in the way you are describing that you want to do it.  Give the PDCA the PID of the SPI interface that is connected to your ADC.  Then program the memory address registers in the PDCA to point the SRAM you have connected to the EBI.  Voila!  ADC samples directly into the SRAM.

Letting the smoke out since 1978

Thank you very much digitalDan! That was very helpful. I did not realise that EBI would work like an extended memory space for the PDCA. Now I can move back to my code. :)

Kind regards
