Hello

I am new to ARM/SAM.

I want to make a device that utilizes the small form factor of samb11 ble module.

I have tried but it is impossible to get the module off of the xplained board.

Therefore I am trying to program it using atmel ice.

However I am not very sure this is even possible. (eg. Where should the RESET wire go?)

Thanks in advance.

This topic has a solution.

Thanks.

I have read the manual already and have tried connecting it. (and failed)

Manual states that it requires RESET wire to be connected to the target.

under 4.2.6

Physical interfaces

  JTAG interface

The RESET line should always be connected so that the Atmel-ICE can enable the JTAG interface.

  SWD interface

The RESET line should always be connected so that the Atmel-ICE can enable the SWD interface.

However, I have failed to find a 'reset' pin on on sam b11 pin assignment.(http://www.atmel.com/Images/Atme...)

Can you help me find where the RESET pin should go?

@Spica1028: Hi, I am also working with the SAMB11. I can program it well with the SAMB11 XPlained Pro board. Now I have make a board with only the SAMB11 chip and I have the same problem with programming with the ATMEL-ICE programmer. I use the SWD interface with SWD_Clock at LP_GPIO_0 and SWD_I/O at LP_GPIO_1. I get this error:

Atmel SAMB flash tool. 1.0.43
ERROR:Unable to connect to target device.
ERROR:Are you sure the tool is correctly connected to the device?
Process exited with code 1
ERROR:The device could be in low power mode, and need to be reset using pin reset when connecting. Make sure that the target reset is connected to the tool.

I don' t know which pin I connect the Reset line to or can I program the device without Reset signal? Do you have already a solution? I have the Chip Enable (pin26) connected to VCC.
