Hi all,
I've just posted yet another laser range finder related project called as "AV laser range finder".

In that project the original firmware of the BOSCH laser range finder DLE50 (based on ATMega169P) was replaced by the new one and now the device is working as a continuous laser range finder with external control via UART interface.

Main parameters are as the following:
Measurement rate "“ 40Hz (25ms)
Measurement range "“ 0"¦8м
Measurement accuracy "“ +/-5..10мм (depends on conditions)
External interface "“ TTL UART 76800 8N1
Power supply "“ 4 x 1.5 V LR03

Main project purposes is amateur robotics and robots localization tasks.

Hi

I can't believe I found your videos and your project. I am keen as well to make LRF for Arduino as well. Just last week I bought this short range LRF on eBay.co.uk:

Not more than one hour after receiving it I opened it up and removed metal shielding from PLL clocks so I can read IC names.

If you are interested I can send you photos of the motherboard and ICs. Basically everything revolved around these three ICs:

TI CDCE913 - Programmable 1-PLL VCXO Clock Synthesizer (it had two of these, I do not know why)
STMicroelectronics STM32F100C6 MCU
ATMEL AT24C02 - EEPROM

I'm a bit late to the party...... I'm always interested in having gizmos opened up - especially laser rangefinders. There seems to be a number of units on the market now and the price is dropping.

Hey solit_lv , I have questions about your project: what actions need to be done after the firmware, the device will measure the distance? still do not understand why in the automatic measurement (scan start) once the shutter is opened, the original firmware when changing distances, the shutter was opened again.
