I think avrdude is primarily a Linux tool. It may be the port to Windows that is the problem.

It is probably better to disable it altogether with -fno-strict-aliasing rather than hide the warning with -Wstrict-aliasing", no?

I'm not familiar with the avr109. I may have used it on the Butterfly a long time ago. Everything is working fine until avrdude sends the set...
