I'm not familiar with the avr109.  I may have used it on the Butterfly a long time ago.   Everything is working fine until avrdude sends the set...

To avoid long then add 1/4 of the difference y=y+((x-y)/4)

Often a decaying average is enough. But if you do not want to have any historical data after a given number of sampls, the simple moving average is better...

Yeah I tried BASCOM and wasn't huge into it. I'm really weird about the platforms I use to program. I either love them or hate them.
