DocJC pointed out that the 8-pin RS485 chip is a 75176, not 75175.  That's what happens when software guys design hardware.

Thanks Dan that was easy - I see that my text size has gone up and my data size down so its working - many thanks   I thought const just told the compiler...

post #10 talks about Rowley's compiler - optimizing out [such silly] code... Last I checked, Rowley's compiler is GNU GCC.

Often a decaying average is enough. But if you do not want to have any historical data after a given number of sampls, the simple moving average is better...
