Alright, I solved it by uninstalling everything, then deleting the Atmel folder in Program Files, then rebooting. Now 6.2SP1 installed without a hitch.

Agreed. "Yeah, right!" is NOT the same as "Yeah, right" (with a drawn out low tone). So the context and tone is very important to the meaning conveyance.
