guys, if you want to relive the olden days, then just run an emulator. I dare say a 6809 will run at 2MHz or better running via an emulator on a 100+MHz cortex...

Often a decaying average is enough. But if you do not want to have any historical data after a given number of sampls, the simple moving average is better...
